Focused Cardiac Ultrasound (FoCUS): Fundamentals for Clinical Practice

Introduction

Focused Cardiac Ultrasound (FoCUS) has become an essential bedside imaging tool for physicians involved in emergency medicine, critical care, cardiology, and internal medicine. This course introduces the fundamental principles of FoCUS, including image acquisition, standard cardiac views, and interpretation of common cardiac abnormalities.

Participants will gain practical knowledge through real clinical cases and learn how to integrate focused cardiac ultrasound findings into rapid bedside decision-making.

The course emphasizes hands-on clinical applications while highlighting the limitations of FoCUS and its role alongside comprehensive echocardiography.
